Keeping with with Botox

KHLOE-KARDASHIAN-600
A laundry list of stars like Khloe Kardashian and Robin Wright are embracing the beauty benefits of Botox, and for good reason. But it’s important to pause for a second to make sure you trust the person with the needle in their hand.
Information is key, testimonials and before and after pictures. That’s why Radiance Medspa in Atlanta has created a new website dedicated to information on Botox, BotoxAtlantaMD.com.
Here you’ll find no-nonsense information on Botox that will help ease any apprehensions before making a complimentary consultation to discuss a Botox plan made specifically for you.
Ever wondered how Botox works? On the site, they give a simple explanation:
BOTOX is a powerful medicine used to treat facial expression lines and neck banding as well as down-turned smiles and drooping eyes. BOTOX works by blocking new impulses to relax the contraction of muscles. This causes winkles to relax due to the result of the muscles inability to contract, so you get wrinkles that are now relaxed and softened.
If you live in or near the Atlanta area, this website is a great source of information on Botox. Bravo, Radiance Medspa, bravo.

How Do I get Ride of My Crow's Feet?

You laughed, you smiled, you squinted in the sun’s rays. You wouldn’t necessarily trade these experiences for youth, but those crow’s feet have got to go! With Botox injections, you can bid them adieu and keep on smiling!

Actually called canthal lines, crow’s feet are those wrinkles that form at the corners of the eyes.

For many years, Botox injectors have used the product to treat these little lines that cause some people large amounts of grief. Last fall, the FDA finally gave its seal of approval for its use in the treatment of crow’s feet, although medical practitioners around the world have been using Botox to treat crow’s feet, forehead lines, frown lines and other areas of the face for decades.

Botox in Tampa

Botox treatments are performed during a short office visit to a medspa where a licensed medical professional specializes in this type of treatment. Although the regulations vary from state to state, in Florida, only medical doctors, nurse practitioners and physicians assistants are legally allowed to perform cosmetic injections. Whatever your location, find an injector who is appropriately licensed in the state, experienced, and agrees with you about the natural look you want to achieve. And then watch those crow’s feet fly away!

TheraClear: A Breakthrough in Professional Acne Treatment

The TheraClear Acne Treatment System is a new, breakthrough device for acne with a multi-approach system that can dramatically reduce acne and improve the appearance of the skin. What makes TheraClear different is that it uses both a physical vacuum and a broad spectrum light, which work together to treat acne effectively. Clinical studies have determined that acne has several causes, but the root of the problem of acne is always due to blocked sebum. Theraclear is the only device that removes the sebum, mechanically evacuating it and other acne causing bacteria, for an immediate outcome.

The TheraClear Acne Treatment System is a professional acne treatment machine.  Information can be found at TheraClear.com.

The Advantage of Light and Vacuum Acne Treatment
Many skin conditions respond quickly with remarkable results to TheraClear.  TheraClear works by combining two powerful energies that, when engaged simultaneously, can effect a level of purification and deep cleansing unattainable in previous acne light treatment systems. The vacuum-like component pulls out the clogged, dead skin cells and oils that are blocking pores, while the broad spectrum light calms inflammation and kills bacteria, leaving a new, smoother, more even texture and a clear, radiant glow.

Cory  – I did see improvement from the treatments. I saw reduced redness, overall texture of my skin improved and it cleared up some bad break outs. It helped a lot more than other treatments and caused less dryness.

TheraClear may be right for you if you are experiencing side effects with over the counter prescriptions.  Pretty much anyone is a good candidate for TheraClear, with those who have mild to severe acne the best candidate. The main types of acne that the TheraClear will target is inflammatory acne, nodulocystic acne, comedonal acne, and pustular acne, although all types of acne can benefit. Outstanding results have been seen with both teenagers and adults, and TheraClear is also safe for pregnant woman.

Bentley – Advantages over other treatments I have tried – no hormones, no antibiotics and can be used during pregnancy.

Theraclear requires no pre-treatment gel or anesthetics, and is a very comfortable and easy procedure with one fifteen-minute session providing a for full facial treatment. A non-invasive therapy, it requires no in-office preparation and no recovery time. It is completely painless and reportedly feels more like massage therapy than a clinical procedure. Although there are exceptions, 4-6 treatments are needed for optimal results with a touch-up treatment done every 3-6 months.  The initial treatments must be received 7-14 days apart.

TheraClear is professional acne equipment for dermatologists.  Results differ for each individual.  Some show improvement after 2 or 3 treatments, and others need 4-6 treatments before noticing improvement. Those who have been treated with TheraClear have seen lasting results for three months, and those who are on maintenance regimens have stayed clear for a year or more. Typically, patients results include: fewer breakouts, reductions in the severity of breakouts, reduction in the duration of breakouts and the oiliness of their skin. Based on Theravant research, 85% of patients have excellent results, 10% show satisfactory improvement, and only 5% of patients show little improvement.

Ask your dermatologist or skin care professional about TheraClear Acne Treatment.

Staying Slim by Making Small Changes: The Plank

Being slim isn't about making crazy, extreme changes. This can lead to getting burnt out real fast. Instead, it's the small changes over time that can lead to dramatic results. Case in point: this post from FitSugar.com on how to correctly plank.

You've probably done an elbow plank so many times by now that you know the drill by heart: straight back, belly button pulled in, and palms flat on your mat (trying not to clasp them in prayer pose if possible). But Cassandra Bodlak, group exercise manager at Sports Club/LA, recommends her clients do a slight modification that's a little more challenging: when in elbow plank, flip your hands over so your palms are facing up.
Pressing through an elbow plank with palms facing down will help keep back muscles engaged and clasping hands together in a fist will enlist your chest muscles to help stabilize you, but flipping your hands over will make your plank even more about the core, Cassandra explains. "Performing a plank with palms up [will] disengage some of the support from the muscles of the hand and forearm," she says. In other words, simply moving your hands will help you get on the fast track to bikini-ready abs.
Another reason to go palms up? You'll help unround those hunched-over shoulders. "It takes the pronator teres (one of the major forearm muscles) and positions it in what is called the 'anatomical position' (palms forward when standing, palms up when prone in a plank), which is the most desirable position in which to function," Cassandra explains. "We are all busy typing on keyboards these days, encouraging a particular position of the forearm: palms down. Simply repositioning the forearms in your plank helps to create a balance."
Sculpted abs and looking taller are two great Spring-ready reasons to try the "palms up" modification the next time you're in an elbow plank, but don't worry if making this change has you collapsing into Child's Pose sooner than you're used to. Cassandra offers this encouragement: "When you perform a plank, perform it to the best of your ability in the moment you're in — palms in prayer, palms flat, or palms up, it's probably one more plank than you did yesterday, right? Keep it up!"

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is important after a CoolSculpting in Greenwich procedure for optimal results.

Prevent and Treat Crow's Feet With These 9 Tips

Learning how to prevent and treat crow’s feet is one of the top skin care concerns of women. Those little wrinkles that start to form on the outer corners of your eyes are often inevitable, but they can be treated! Some people take meticulous care of their skin and still see these laugh lines, where others barely use any sunscreen and are line-free! If you’re bothered by the sight of crow’s feet, take a look at these nine simple tips that can help you prevent and treat crow’s feet! [Source: AllWomenStalk.com]

1. Stop Squinting
Before we get into how to treat crow’s feet, let’s talk about one of the top ways we get those pesky wrinkles in the first place! According to dermatologist Dr. Neal Schultz, smiling, squinting and sleeping are the top three ways we get crow’s feet. We don’t want to cut back on smiling so we have to nip the squinting in the bud! Wear sunglasses, and if you need corrective lenses, get some prescription contacts or glasses ASAP!

2. Sleep Smart
The other culprit in crow’s feet per Dr. Schultz was sleeping. It’s not actually sleeping that can lead those little crinkles but the way we sleep. Sleeping on your back can help eliminate lines from the creases on your pillow but if you just can’t sleep on your back, Schultz recommends using a U-shaped travel pillow or using a satin pillowcase.

3. Moisturize
Another way to prevent crow’s feet is to keep up the moisture levels in your body. Do this by drinking plenty of water and using hydrating creams on your face and eye area. Our skin sometimes gets dried out from lack of water or hydration, and as a result we get fine lines and wrinkles. Drink water and use creams that contain retinoids, copper peptides and alpha hydroxy acids.

4. Peels
If you already have crow’s feet and are looking for a simple treatment to treat those bad boys, try a chemical peel. You can get this peel done at a medical spa or doctor’s office, and it removes layers of dead skin so you’re left with fresh, radiant skin. You can also try a glycolic peel, which is also effective. However, they take some recovery time so it’s something to take into consideration.

5. Grapes
Did you know that you can find grapes on the ingredient list of many anti-aging skin care products? Grapes contain antioxidants, vitamins, phytonutrients and phytochemicals. All of these elements help protect and nourish our skin so it looks its best. Try mashing a handful of green grapes and applying the juice with a cotton ball on the eyes, mouth and forehead area. Rinse it off after 5 minutes and repeat it 2-3 times weekly to help reduce fine lines!

6. Egg Whites
Another natural and easy at-home method to treat crow’s feet is to use an egg white mask. Egg whites can tighten the skin and help reduce the appearance of crow’s feet. All you need is the egg white from one egg! Apply the egg white to a clean face and leave it on for about 15 minutes, then rinse off with warm water. You’ll be left with tighter pores and firmer skin!

7. Take Breaks
An important tip to prevent crow’s feet is to give your eyes a break! If you sit in front of a computer all day, be sure to give your eyes hourly breaks and consider getting a screen filter to reduce glare. Also, if you use an e-reader often, make sure you watch the light conditions. Anything that can strain your eyes can cause crow’s feet so it’s important to stay on top of these things!

8. Stop Smoking
I know, you’ve heard it a million times but smoking not only robs your skin of collagen and elastin, the smoke can also cause you to squint, which is a big no-no! If you needed another reason to quit, do it for the sake of your skin! Every cigarette you smoke, you’re losing valuable collagen and elastin so as hard as it might be, it’s definitely worth it to quit!

9. Botox
The most permanent fix to treat crow’s feet is Botox. If you’ve tried eye creams, peels and other natural remedies and they’re just not doing it for you, Botox could be a good option. Dr. Neal Schultz states that Botox can be used as a preventive treatment and a way to treat existing crow’s feet. Talk to your doctor or dermatologist if you want a more permanent solution to crow’s feet.

Ultherapy to Maintain a Youthful Neck

How often do we apply creams, serums and SPF to our face and completely forget that our neck needs the special attention, too? This original article, posted on NewBeauty.com, had six creams and lotions to help maintain a youthful neck. But sometimes it's just not enough. So, we've added in one more way to get a youthful neck, Ultherapy.

We get so busy gauging the progress of wrinkles on our face, we forget that the signs of aging might be creeping up on our neck and décolleté area, too. But you can stave off discoloration, fatty deposits, wrinkles, bands and even loose skin that can evolve into the dreaded turkey wattle—and maintain a more youthful look.

The Proven Way To Get A Younger-Looking Neck
Lotions, creams and serums, along with sunblock, provide an anti-aging arsenal that can help stave off the signs of aging, but they can only do so much and at some point in-office alternatives may be necessary. Noninvasive skin tighteners like Ultherapy and Thermage can help firm skin.

Besides the visible effects of lifting and tightening, there is also an invisible result from Ultherapy with the creation of new collagen, which helps the skin maintain its youthfulness. Ultherapy lifts, tightens, and tones loose skin to counteract the effects of time and gravity. One of the first effects of gravity is that the brows descend, and the eyes start to appear smaller. Ultherapy will lift the brow, which in turn reduces the excess skin on the lids, opens up the eyes and gives a more refreshed appearance.

Say Goodbye to Lip Lines and Hi To Juvederm

Kissable lips are among the long list of beauty desires all women want. And it's no secret that plump lips are synonymous with kissable. But, as we age, lines can start to form that make our once plump lips look flat. Luckily, there are things we can do to both prevent and repair those lines! Originally posted on NewBeauty.com, here are five things you can do to get kissable lips.

Everyone likes to pucker up from time to time, but that pursing motion-along with aging, collagen and elastin loss-can cause those tiny vertical lines to develop across the top of your upper lip. Not only do these lines make you look older, but they also cause your lipstick to bleed beyond your lips. However, you can keep these fine lines at bay or diminish them if they've started to appear. Here's how:

Stop smoking: The continual pursing of your lips, along with the cellular damage smoking causes, will break down the collagen that keeps your lips looking soft and supple.

Moisturize and exfoliate: The sun and other environmental elements will cause your lips to dry out, so be sure to use a lip balm regularly that includes ingredients like honey or hyaluronic acid. You'll also want to slough away dry skin with a gentle lip exfoliator once a week.

Go for nudes: If you like a glossy finish to your lips, choose nude shades that complement your skin tone, since darker tones are more apt to emphasize the lines. Play up your eye makeup, instead.

Resurface the skin: You can target those tiny lines with fractional lasers, dermabrasion or chemical peels in various strengths, depending on how pronounced your lines have become. Pigmentation changes may be an issue for the sensitive skin around your lips after a laser or peel treatment, so be sure to discuss this with your dermatologist.

Fill in lines: Fillers injected, like Juvederm, into the lips must be done with the utmost care to avoid overly filled or “duck” lips. Be sure to seek out a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon who has extensive experience in filling lips so that you can smooth the lines and achieve a natural look for your lips. Your physician may also suggest a small injection of a neurotoxin such as Botox, or Dysport to lessen the muscle movement that can cause the lines to form.

Maintaining Your Laser Hair Removal Results

Once you’ve gone through the full course of treatment, it’s important to protect your skin from the sun and keep it healthy to prolong your results. If not, you are just damaging your skin again. Original article on NewBeauty.com.

1. Stay Out of the Sun: “The best way to maintain your results is to stay out of the sun and wear sunblock daily,” says Boca Raton, FL, dermatologist Dr. Allison Schwedelson.

2. Take Care of Your Skin: Now that your skin is healthy, you want to keep it that way. Sunscreen, antioxidants and a moisturizer are essential. Antioxidants repair damage and protect skin to prevent future damage. Moisturizers keep skin hydrated.

3. Use a Retinol Regularly: Over-the-counter and prescription-strength retinoids reinforce laser results by keeping the skin in repair mode, creating new collagen and exfoliating the surface.

4. Interval Treatments: Nothing lasts forever—not even the results of a laser. Re-treatments every now and then will help maintain the longevity of your results for healthier skin.

Get Jennifer Lawrence's Cat Eye from the Oscars

There's no denying that Jennifer Lawrence is America's 'it" girl. We all just want to be her best friend! There's no denying that she looked stunning on the red carpet last Sunday at the Oscars. And if you're one of the many women who are wondering how to get her cat-eye look, read on....[original article found on BeautyHigh.com]

"One of the main reasons we love Jennifer Lawrence so much is that she’s so relatable. Sure, the girl’s got a mantle full of acting awards and she’s gutsy enough to chop all of her hair off into a pixie haircut, but she always manages to make us feel like we can do what she’s doing. At the 2014 Oscars, her red carpet look was stunning, but it also happened to be a very wearable look we can steal.

To get Jennifer’s look at home, begin with Dior Capture Totale Triple-Correcting Serum Foundation for a smooth base and apply Vibrant Color Powder Blush in in Cocktail Peach. As for the cat eye, Jennifer wore the Diorshow Art Pen Intense Professional Felt-Tip Eyeliner in Catwalk Black flicked up towards the outer corner, and the eye was finished with Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara in Over Black. Her natural lip that gives off a “my lips but better” feel was the new Dior Addict Fluid Stick in Mirage, and it’s the perfect color for every day or hitting a red carpet (if you happen to be doing that any time soon)."

What can I do to stop my face from drooping as I age?

No one needs convincing that as we age, our skin loses its firm, youthful appearance. Eventually, skin begins to droop and sag until you might feel like you hardly recognize yourself in the mirror. For this situation, we can thank gravity, along with the loss of facial fat, collagen, elasticity and hyaluronic acid. As the skin loses its volume, it begins to sag, causing the formation of wrinkles and folds. It all leads to an alteration in the actual shape of the face and hollowed, sunken forehead, eyes and cheeks and a heavier, wider jaw.

Now there is a simple cure for the droop. In just one non-surgical treatment, the new volumizing dermal filler Juvéderm Voluma XC reverses this situation and restores full cheeks, lifting the whole face and reclaiming the heart-shaped look of youth. Thanks to its proprietary cross-linking process, Juvéderm Voluma XC can also last as long as two years before a touch up is necessary. Injections of Voluma plump the area deep beneath the skin, adding volume back to your face, just where you need it, and nowhere you don’t. Now that Voluma is here, it’s time to say “so long” to the droop and “hello cheekbones!”

5 Reasons Why Your Mascara is Clumping

Long lashes have been said to be a sign of femininity. So it's pretty obvious that a lot of woman want them as long and as full as possible. But clumped mascara not only frustrating, it can also make your lashes look a complete mess! These tips, originally posted on Beauty High, gives great advice on how to prevent the dreaded clumped mess mascara can make.

Mascara junkies everywhere understand that there’s no fate worse than a clump in a perfectly good set of lashes. You spend so much time getting your eyelashes just right, then a clump comes out of nowhere and it’s a surefire sign a bad day will follow. Removing your makeup completely isn’t an option, and now you’re pretty much stuck with a clump, so what do you do? You prevent clumps from ever happening in the first place — with the tips below.

It’s Expired: When was the last time you changed your mascara? If you can’t remember, it’s probably been too long. Expired mascara gets dried out, plus bacteria gets into the formula, so you’re not only putting old, dried mascara on your lashes — which causes clumping — but you’re also putting your eyes at risk for a bacterial infection. Next time you get a new tube, write the date on the side of the mascara with a permanent marker. After six months, move on to a fresh mascara.

You’re Using Too Much: Two coats of mascara is fine, but after that things can get a bit thick. Piling on the mascara puts you at a greater risk for clumps. If you start to see clumps as you’re applying, you’ve likely reached the limit. Use a fine pin or a mascara comb to separate lashes and do some damage control on any clumps that may have happened.

You’re Not Removing Properly at Night:
Whether this means you’re not using a waterproof eye makeup remover when you should be or you’re not fully removing the mascara, any leftover, dried mascara left on your lashes overnight will mean definite clumps when you go to apply over that in the morning. Be sure you’re fully cleaning off your lashes before going to sleep to avoid thick mascara in the morning.

The Brush is Over-packed: When you pull the wand out of the tube to apply the mascara, clean off the excess from the mascara wand into the tube. Extra mascara on the wand simply means that you’ll be piling on too much product at once, which always leads to clumps.

You’re Not Wiggling:
For the fullest, most beautiful lashes, place the wand underneath your top lashes at the root, and gently wiggle the wand as you begin to drag it upwards towards the tips of your lashes. This insures even distribution and full coverage of your lashes, so you’ll be much less likely to get clumps.

If you're looking to naturally grow your lashes, you can buy latisse online for amazing results.

Which Dermal Filler Lasts Longest?

Dermal fillers provide an easy and safe method of restoring fullness and volume to your face. However, all fillers are not created equal, and no filler provides permanent results. Once you achieve your thrillingly more youthful look, you will need to consider timing of touch-ups to maintain it. Juvéderm and Restylane are fillers made from hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in the body. Because hyaluronic acid is found in your body, it will also be absorbed by it over time. Restylane has the shortest staying power of any dermal filler and requires a touch-up every four to six months. Juvéderm comes in three formulations – Ultra, Ultra Plus, and Voluma, lasting 6 months, 12 months and 24 months respectively.

The product Radiesse can also last up to a year, but it is made from calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in a gel carrier, meaning it is a synthetic product. The filler Sculptra is another synthetic product, a poly-L-lactic acid that helps replace collagen. While it typically requires 2-3 treatments to achieve optimal results, Sculptra lasts two years or sometimes longer.

The newest product to market, Juvéderm Voluma XC, is a recently FDA-approved filler also made from naturally-occurring hyaluronic acid. Voluma is made with a special cross-linking process that gives it more thickness and moldability. It’s also injected deeper than the others, so more than just a filler, it’s a volumizer. Even better, Voluma lasts up to two years. Juvéderm Ultra, Juvederm Ultra Plus, and Juvéderm Voluma can tackle different problems, and between the three, virtually any area of the face can be treated – whether it’s lifting cheeks or fine work around the mouth and eyes. The results are safe, natural and frankly, amazing.

Instantaneous Juvederm Voluma

According to Dr. Broumand, JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC is the only filler of its kind to be approved by the FDA for volume enhancement in the midface. "Results from JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC are instantaneous and generally last anywhere from one and a half to two years," he says, "so there's really nothing else on the market that compares to its longevity without a need for additional treatments." The Manhattan plastic surgeon adds that similar volume enhancers like Sculptra® Aesthetic and Radiesse™ require multiple treatments in order to attain optimal results. Read original article here>>

Better Business with BOTOX

If you’re a business owner worried about your bottom line, should you be worried about your facial lines?

In today’s business world, your face is an increasingly important business asset. Social media demands pictures and videos. FaceTime, Skype, webinars all help small-business owners stay in touch with clients and consumers, but they also can have the side effect of making you look older and droopier than you really are.

Let’s face it, you can use your 10-year-old photo only for so long.

If you can look somewhat younger, could it help you be more successful? Yes, I know that’s a terribly unfair question. The world should value wisdom and experience as much as youthful enthusiasm. And once you’ve reached a certain level of achievement, your age actually may be seen as an advantage. But many entrepreneurs and small-business owners vie with much younger competitors. Looking more youthful may help you land that big client.

Areas of Importance

  • Botox for the vertical wrinkles between your eyebrows. “They make you look angry even when you’re not.”

  • Botox for the forehead horizontal lines. When injected in the forehead, Botox also results in raising your eyebrows and opening up your eyes, he says. This makes you look more alert as well as younger.

  • Filler on the deep folds around your mouth.

BOTOX, Robin Wright & House of Cards

Robin Wright has said to get "sprinkles of BOTOX twice a year".

House of Cards star Robin Wright has come forward to reveal one of the secrets behind her youthful look at 47 years old. While speaking to E! News, the Golden Globe winner admitted to getting "the tiniest sprinkle of Botox twice a year" just to "take the edge off."

"Everybody [expletive] does it. I suppose I can't say 'everybody' because I don't know for sure, but come on," Wright reportedly said. "It's just the tiniest sprinkle of Botox twice a year. I think most women do 10 units, but that freezes the face and you can't move it," she continued. "This is just one unit, and it's just sprinkled here and there to take the edge off. ... Perhaps it's not wise to put that in a magazine? But I ain't hiding anything," she added.

•    Women don't want laser hair removal or skin tightening

But forget wilting flower bouquets, cringey chocolates and kitschy teddy bears, because most women have only one gift on their hit list this year.

Nearly 80 per cent of women want Botox as their present this February - with 78 per cent saying they'd be 'impressed' if their partner treated them to it, according to research.

When researchers asked women how they'd feel if their partner bought them botox, 78 per cent said they'd be impressed, 15 per cent said they would be mildly pleased yet concerned, and the remaining seven per cent said they would be slightly offended or not happy.

The study also looked at which cosmetic treatments women would like to receive for Valentine's Day - with dermal filler, botox and tooth whitening topping the list.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, women would hate to receive - men, are you paying attention? - laser hair removal, skin tightening and leg vein removal this year.

Men have even been scouring the net for advice, with one cosmetic surgery and treatment review website seeing a rise in enquiries from loved-up men seeking advice on whether they should respond to their partners' anti-ageing concerns.

New research reveals the number one question from men was: 'Which aesthetic treatments can I give as a Valentine’s Day gift without offending her?'.

Speaking about the results, a spokesperson for Good Surgeon Guide, who carried out the study, said: 'While our general opinion is that gifting cosmetic surgery or aesthetic treatments is not good idea, it cannot erase the fact that people still feel compelled to give and receive them.

You may be surprised with the amount of women who would rather get BOTOX for Valentine's Day than chocolate and flowers. If you're one of those women, or looking for a gift for one, check out BOTOX Tampa today.

'We recommend that men who choose to give cosmetic treatments for Valentine's must understand how the gift may make their partner feel, especially if it's a surprise.

'If at all possible, it's best to speak with their partner about the treatment and make sure it is something they want.'

We all love our lashes, and we would love them even more if they were fuller and longer; long, voluminous lashes are the ultimate sign of femininity. Lashes add definition to the eye and camouflaging the signs of aging. Time alone causes the lashes to appear thin and short, but you can make a statement with these lust-worthy lash treatments, tools and techniques. Original article on lashes from NewBeauty.com

Go Faux

Try false lashe—but choose wisely. Lashes that are too heavy can look unnatural. One to try: Winks by Georgie L’Avant-Gardiste Lash Compact ($28) comes with easy-to-apply and reusable lashes. The mirror in the compact really lets you see the lash line up close so that you can apply them perfectly every time.

Line the Lashes
A thin swipe of black eyeliner smudged at the lash line is an easy way to accentuate the eyelashes. Try a waterproof pencil like Anastasia Beverly Hills Covet Waterproof Eyeliner ($19) for some long-lasting staying power. Follow with your favorite mascara.

Double Thickness

A celebrity favorite, lash extensions are a good option for instantly thicker and longer lashes for an extended period of time.

Long-Lasting Length

For patients dissatisfied with the length, darkness or thickness of their eyelashes, surgical and nonsurgical treatments are available. According to Beverly Hills, CA, hair restoration surgeon Dr. Craig L. Ziering, the FDA-approved, prescription strength medication Latisse can enhance sparse eyelashes. For more of a permanent change, eyelash transplant surgery can be performed, which restores the actual eyelash hair. But Dr. Ziering says the four-hour long outpatient procedure, which can only be done on the upper lids, won’t give the fullness that false eyelashes provide. “Growth of new lashes can be seen after two months but the final result may take one year since all the grafts have to mature. These newly grafted eyelashes require monthly maintenance like trimming, curling and tinting,” says Dr. Ziering.

Should I Get BOTOX or Juvéderm?

Some of your friends might be doing it; you know your favorite film star is doing it. And when you’re ready, you want to make sure you do it right. We’re talking about getting anti-aging injections that can make you look younger in just one office visit. You’ve probably heard a lot about BOTOX, which is the world’s most popular non-surgical cosmetic medical treatment. The injectable dermal filler Juvéderm is also a well-liked option to consider.

What’s important to know is that these two treatments are used to solve different issues, so you want to determine what you would like to improve and choose the treatment that works for your needs. BOTOX and Juvéderm products can also be used together, which can offer dramatic and still natural-looking results.

BOTOX in Tampa
BOTOX is basically a muscle relaxer and is used to de-wrinkle areas like frown lines, crow’s feet and the glabella, the area between the eyebrows. On the other hand, Juvéderm is an injectable filler that plumps up wrinkles. It’s used to fill in folds like those “parentheses” that run from the bottom of the nose to the corners of the mouth, fine lines around the mouth and hollow areas under the eyes.

Juvéderm For Perfectly Plump Cheeks

If you still aren’t sure which treatment would help you more, a good medspa will provide a complimentary consultation so that you can review your options with an expert. Look for a practice where the injectors have lots of experience, and you’ll end up with beautiful, safe and natural results!

Five Facial Plastic Surgery Predictions for 2014

Plastic surgery is back. The number of people undergoing cosmetic plastic surgery plummeted after the economic recession of 2008, but the most recent figures suggest that a double-digit comeback is underway.

Here’s what top facial plastic surgeons predict we will be seeing more of (and less of) this year.

1. Fat is phat.

Using your own fat for cosmetic surgery has experienced a pronounced uptick in popularity in the past few years. Fat harvested from one part of the body, such as the tummy or buttocks, is transferred to facial areas. We will see more fat being used in 2014 largely because the results are becoming more predictable and longer lasting. There will also be an increased interest in the healing and regenerative potential of growth factors, stem cells and other substances found in fat.

“Facial plastic surgeons are continuously refining their fat harvesting and injection techniques, utilizing a variety of different methods and in some cases, combining fat with other substances, such as platelet rich plasma. Besides restoring volume, the data suggests that adding fat back to the face may also improve the skin texture and tone,” says Ed Farrior, MD, FACS, president of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS).

2. Designer filler debuts.

At long last, after being a big hit across the pond, Juvederm® Voluma received the official nod from the Federal Food and Drug Administration in late 2013, and this filler fills an important niche—the cheeks or mid-face. Juvederm® Voluma does more than just spackling over lines and plumping up creases. It adds volume and fullness to areas of the face that with advancing age and enhances facial symmetry. Expect other site-specific "designer-fillers" to enter the United States market in 2014.

3. Lips become the new "it" spot for rejuvenation.

Growing numbers of women will be opting to plump up their puckers for Valentine’s Day and beyond. Gone are the days where lips are overfilled and inflated with collagen a la Goldie Hawn in “The First Wives’ Club.” Now, facial plastic surgeons have mastered the fine art of lip enhancement and can achieve natural, subtle, soft and kissable results.

4. Rhino-popularity continues to soar.

Found to be the most common surgical procedure for both men and women under 35, according to the AAFPRS, and the most in-demand facial plastic surgery among men, rhinoplasty has seen a recent resurgence in interest.

Rhinoplasty is so popular that facial plastic surgeons coined a term for it—rhino-popularity—and it’s here to stay. The nose is the central feature of the face and even a small improvement of plus or minus a few millimeters of cartilage or bone can make a big impact in your overall appearance.

5. The big chill
Baby it’s really cold outside! The Polar Vortex has dipped into record-breaking negatives across many parts of the United States. But facial plastic surgeons are quick to point out that freezing can have some important cosmetic and reconstructive benefits. Expect to hear more about crythotherapy and its many roles in 2014 including freezing your fat and forehead wrinkle smoothing.

Plastic surgery is back. The number of people undergoing cosmetic plastic surgery plummeted after the economic recession of 2008, but the most recent figures suggest that a double-digit comeback is underway.

PARTY MAKEUP INSPIRATION

Each time you get dressed up to go out, you have many  different eye makeup options… it really just depends on your mood and outfit! You can draw a cat eye, you can leave them bare to keep the focus on a bold lip, you can rim the inner waterline, you can do a classic smoky eye, or… you can do a Sparkle Smudge! It’s dramatic and ultra-feminine and very compliment-heavy. So add this option to your repertoire and I trust you’ll bring it out on the perfect occasion! Here’s how:

TOOLS:

Longwear Eyeliner Pencil: You can use a kohl pencil as well, but when you smudge it, it’s going to dissipate too much, so I recommend using a longwear pencil so it’s more intense and lasts longer. Try Laura Mercier Longwear Creme Eye Pencil in Espresso or Wet N Wild Megalast Eye Pencil in Black/Brown.
Sparkle Shadow: I used Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eyeshadow on Lexi above because it’s the perfect amount of sparkle without getting showgirl.
Voluminous Mascara: I used Covergirl Bombshell Volume Mascara because it gives the biggest lashes out there right now.

STEPS:

1. Line the upper lashline. Make it a generous line and not too thin!
2. Next, line the lower lashline. While you’re down there, rim the inner waterline as well.
3. Smudge the upper liner with your finger by rubbing your finger back and forth to really smear the liner onto the lid. Keep most of the intensity towards the lashline and the rest on your lid (keep it south of the crease). If you need a refresher, revisit my Smudging 101 Tutorial.
4. Smudge the lower liner with your finger as well.
5. Press your finger into the sparkle shadow to pick up the product as demonstrated above. You can certainly use a brush, but I love the control you have with your finger.
6. Press the shadow directly on top of the smudged upper liner. Stamp it all over the liner then continue just above it into the crease.
7. Press the shadow onto the lower smudged liner as well.
8. Finish with a couple coats of mascara.

Going out tonight? Try doing a Sparkle Smudge! Get the complete look with longer lashes, too! Click here for all the steps, the final eye + final full face look. Read more.. http://thebeautydepartment.com/2014/01/party-makeup-inspiration-2/

Botox Receives National Marketing Authorization to Treat Crow's-Feet Lines

Today, Allergan, Inc. announced that Botox has received the license from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) for the temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe lateral canthal lines (crow's-feet lines) seen at maximum smile, either alone or when treated at the same time as glabellar (or frown) lines seen at maximum frown, in adult patients where these facial lines have an important psychological impact. This marketing authorization is specific to Allergan's botulinum toxin type A product and is based on Allergan's successful global Phase III clinical trial program in crow's-feet lines.

"This latest approval for Botox demonstrates Allergan's continued commitment to excellence in neuromodulator innovation and our long-term leadership in medical esthetics," said Paul Navarre, president of Allergan Europe, Africa & Middle East. "We are proud to deliver this important innovation to medical esthetics practitioners in the United Kingdom, allowing them for the first time to treat the glabellar and crow's-feet areas either alone or simultaneously."

Great news for BOTOX!  It has just received the license from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) for the temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe Crow's Feet, meaning that this stuff really works! To read the entire article click here.
